Lewis Jones⁷ Whitney (Jabez⁶, Jacob⁵, Jonas⁴, Eleazar³, Thomas², John¹), son of Jabez⁶ and Elizabeth (-----) Whitney, was born 3 Jan 1802, Orange, MA,^[1] and died 10 Nov 1881, Athol, MA, aged 79 years 10 months 7 days, of old age.^[2]

He married, 18 Jul 1824, Athol, MA, Ruth Howard, daughter of Simon and Lucy (Putnam) Howard.^[3] She was born 11 Jun 1803, Athol, MA, and died 7 Jun 1886, Athol, MA, aged 82 years 11 months 26 days, of paralysis of heart.^[4]
