Lewis Jones7 Whitney (Jabez6, Jacob5, Jonas4, Eleazar3, Thomas2, John1), son of Jabez6 and Elizabeth (-----) Whitney, was born 3 Jan 1802, Orange, MA,[1] and died 10 Nov 1881, Athol, MA, aged 79 years 10 months 7 days, of old age.[2]

He married, 18 Jul 1824, Athol, MA, Ruth Howard, daughter of Simon and Lucy (Putnam) Howard.[3] She was born 11 Jun 1803, Athol, MA, and died 7 Jun 1886, Athol, MA, aged 82 years 11 months 26 days, of paralysis of heart.[4]

Children of Lewis Jones7 and Ruth (Howard) Whitney, possibly incomplete:

i. Gilbert H.8 Whitney, b. 1824, Athol, MA; m.(1) Melinda L./C. -----; m.(2) Helen Mar Woods.
ii. Sumner P. Whitney, b. 1827, Athol, MA; d. 1878; bur. Central Cemetery, Orange, MA;[5] m. 17 Jul 1853, Athol, MA, Elisa J. Peabody.[6] She was b. 1836, and d. 1918; bur. Central Cemetery, Orange, MA.[7]
iii. Mary A. Whitney, b. ca. 1838, Athol, MA.
