William W. Whitney, parentage unknown, was born say 1865, San Bernardino, CA, and died sometime before 1910, perhaps Yolo Co., CA.

He married Sarah C. Hipshire or Hipsher. She was born 1869, Red Bluff, Tehama Co., CA, and died after 1910.

He was perhaps the William W. Whitney listed in 1890 in Los Angeles, CA with the business "Billings & Whitney", 58 North Daly, E. L. A.^[1]

Children of William W. and Sarah C. (Hipshire) Whitney:

i.	Margaret Caroline Whitney, b. 10 Jul 1893, Susanville, Lassen Co., CA, d. 23 Jun 1943. She m. Manuel George.
ii.	James William Whitney, b. 21 Sep 1894, CA, d. 25 Aug 1958.

Notes

1880 census Tehama Township, Tehama Co., California has a W.W. Whitney listed. Could possible be William W. Whitney.

Margaret C. Whitney/George's death certificate has her father as William W. Whitney b. San Bernardino California. Information was give by Margaret's daughter; Margaret George/Jackson.

Sarah Caroline Hipshire is listed under Sara George in the California Death Index. She died 20 Jan 1940 in Butte, California.

I found a gravesite of a Wm. W. Whitney 1858-1897 at the Pioneer Memorial Cemetery in San Bernardino, California

William Wort Whitney born 18 Aug 1856 in San Bernardino CA, died 27 Apr 1908 in Red Bluff CA, father was Ephraim Bennett Whitney born 1812 in New York, died before 1880 in CA, mother unknown.
