David⁸ Whitney (Jonathan⁷, Jonathan⁶, Joseph⁵, Benjamin⁴, Joseph³, John², John¹), son of Jonathan⁷ and Lucy (Parks) Whitney, was born 24 Nov 1806, Watertown, MA, and died 23 Aug 1882, Lowell, MA, aged 75 years 9 months 17 days, of heart disease, lumber dealer.^[1]

He married, 16 Sep 1826, Southborough, MA, Catherine P. Horn, daughter of Windsor and Matilda (Nichols) Horne. She was born 7 Apr 1805, Southbridge, MA, and died 10 Sep 1888, Lowell, MA, aged 83 years, of inflammation of the bowels.^[2]

He resided Acton, Middlesex Village, Westford, Lowell, and Chelmsford, MA.
