1 female under 5 (This is Amanda Malvina Fouts-Whitney... daughter of Jonathan's youngest daughter, Mary "Polly" Whitney.  Sebastian Ety Fouts is her father, he was married to Sarah Wells about two years after Amanda's birth.  There is some family debate about whether Amanda's father and mother were ever married (Grandmother Brown insisted they were not...other older, kinder family members tried not to comment).  Amanda was raised as Amanda Whitney, NOT Amanda Fouts.  Amanda married William Lindimore and named one of her sons Sebastian "Bass" Ety Lindimore.

Jonathan7 Whitney (Phinehas6, Jonathan5, Jonathan4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Phinehas6 and Keziah (Farnsworth) Whitney, was baptized 21 Aug 1774, Harvard, MA, and died 15 Dec 1846, Morgan Co., OH.

He married, 16 Aug 1798, Bridgton, ME, Mary Elizabeth Gates, daughter of Stephen and Mary (Merrick) Gates. She was born "Betty" 29 July 1775, Bridgton, ME, and died -- --- 1857, Bristol, Morgan Co., OH.

Both are buried in Meigs Cemetery, Morgan Co., OH.

She is called "Polly" at marriage, "Betsey" in family records, and "Mary E." on her gravestone. Her birth date has also been given as 18 May 1772. She has not been found in the 1850 census.

On 29 Aug 1820, Morgan Township, Morgan Co., OH, 46 votes were cast in an election for J.P., and among the pioneers participating was Jonathan Whitney.
