Asa6 Whitney [poss.] Asa5, Enoch4, Ebenezer3, Richard2, John1), possibly son of Asa5 and Abigail (Brownson) Whitney, was born say 1778, and died after 1830, OH.
He married ----- Jackson. She died six years before her husband.
"His grandfather, Asa Whitney, a native of New England, married a Miss Jackson. They were among the very first settlers in this part of the country, where they owned two hundred acres of heavily timbered land. Asa Whitney died in Ohio at an advanced age, his wife having passed away about six years previously. They brought up four sons and three daughters, none of whom are now living."[1]
