Ephraim Whitney, parentage unknown, was born about 1789, and died 4 Feb 1828, Machias, ME. He was buried in the Getchell Memorial Cemetery, Marshfield, ME.

He married, 20 June 1813, Machias, ME, Polly Crocker,[1] daughter of James Wheeler and Rebecca (Berry) Crocker. She was born 20 Apr 1795, Machias, ME, and died between 1860 and 1870. She married secondly, 11 Jun 1859, Stephen Boynton.

They lived in Machias, ME.

There were 4 families living in Washington Co., ME in 1790 that could have been Ephraim's parents:

Ken Whitney, in his post titled Ephraim Whitney m. Polly Crocker, surmises that Ephraim Whitney may have been a son of Naphtali and Mary (Stone) Whitney.
