He married firstly, 27 May 1863, Townsend, MA, Lydia Ann Dix,[1] daughter of Jacob E. and Mary G. (-----) Dix. She was born 16 Aug 1846, Townsend, MA, and died 28 Jan 1883, Boston, MA, aged 36 years 5 months 10 days, of pneumonia.[2]
