Family:Whitney, Newton (1829-a1880)

Newton⁸ Whitney (Nathan⁷, Salmon⁶, Jonas⁵, Jonas⁴, Moses³, Richard², John¹), son of Nathan⁷ and Nancy (Farwell) Whitney, was born, 22 Jul 1820, Harvard, MA,^[1] or 2 Jul 1820,^[2] or 26 Jul 1820.

He married firstly, 6 Jan 1848, Hampton Falls, NH, Mary Preble White.^[3] She was born 2 Jul 1829,^[4] and died 9 Aug 1849, West Springfield, MA,^[5] or Cabotville, Chicopee, MA, aged 20 years, of cholera. She was buried in Cabotville Cemetery.^[6]

He married secondly, 10 May 1868, Chicopee, MA [also recorded in Holyoke, MA], Mary L. (Davis) Hayward, daughter of Charles and Charlotte (-----) Davis.^[7] She was born 12 Jul 1845, Kingston, ON,^[8] and died 5 Nov 1899, Holyoke, MA, aged 53 years 3 months 23 days, of carcinoma of the uterus.^[9]

He is a farmer; resided Chicopee, MA, P.O. Box 60.
