Jabez6 Whitney (Jacob5, Jonas4, Eleazar3, Thomas2, John1), son of Jacob5 and Rachel (Whiting) Whitney, was born 30 Nov 1767, Roxbury, MA, was baptized 20 Dec 1767, Roxbury, MA,[1] and died 20 Apr 1849, Phillipston, MA, aged 81 years,[2] and was buried in the Jones Cemetery, Orange, MA.[3]

Jabez married firstly, sometime before 1790, Elizabeth Mayo. She was born 28 Nov 1762, Warwick, MA, was baptized 26 Dec 1763, Roxbury, MA, and died 5 Nov 1808, Orange, MA, aged 46 years, and was buried in the Jones Cemetery, Orange, MA.[4]

Jabez married secondly, sometime before 1810, Sarah Savoy. She was born about 1783, died 27 Oct 1847, Orange, MA, aged 64 years, of dysentery.[5][6]

In 1820, the family was enumerated in Orange, MA as follows: 1 male over 45 (Jabez, age 53), 2 males under 10 (Abner, Moses. Philbrook was not yet born), 1 female 26-45 (Sarah, age 37), 1 female 10-16 (Cylanda), and 2 females under 10 (Clancy, Sally). It doesn't appear as if any of the children from Jabez's previous marriage were residing with the family.
