Major Hachaliah6 Whitney (Jesse5, Jonathan4, Jonathan3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Jesse5 and Mary (Cheney) Whitney, was born 5 Apr 1762, Milford, MA, and died 14 Nov 1848, Milford, MA.
He married firstly, 29 Jun 1786, Milford, MA, Abigail Nelson. She was born 30 Jul 1765.
He married secondly, 9 Oct 1842, Milford, MA, Mrs. Olive (Madden) Cobb. She was born 1 Jun 1777, and died 1849.
He was in the Revolutionary war in the Mendon and Milford companies, and later was captain, and in 1809 major, of the local military regiment. He inherited part of the old homestead on which he always resided. He resided Milford, Massachusetts.
