Roland A.8 Whitney (Jacob7, Jacob6, Abraham5, Abraham4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), born 20 Mar 1817; married 31 Jul 1849, Eliza Hicks; born 16 Mar 1822; died Nov. 13, 1855; married 2d, 13 Apr 1858, Annie E. Lemon; born 28 Mar 1830.
He was born in Pennsylvania, and for over fifty years has resided in Louisville, Kentucky; for thirty years he was in the merchandising business, and for the past twenty years he has been engaged in the manufacture of jeans and woolens. He is now (1894) president of the Falls City Jeans and Woolen County, incorporated, manufacturers of Kentucky jeans; resided Louisville, Kentucky.
Children of Roland A.8 Whitney:
i. Roland L.9 Whitney, born 4 Mar 1859; married Betty McGoodwin. ii. Libbie Whitney, born 24 Jul 1861; married 5 May 1886, Bushrod W. Taylor; born 12 Feb 1859; resided Louisville, Kentucky - Ch.: Elise, born 27 Oct 1888; Roland W., born 7 Jul 1894.
iii. Logan R. Whitney, born 17 Jul 1866; married Florence Woodruff. iv. James F. Whitney, born 1 Mar 1864. He was born in Louisville, and has always resided there. He now (1894) is secretary and treasurer of the Kelley Axe Manufacturing Company. v. Fayett Whitney, born 29 Apr 1868; died 11 Jan 1869.
