He married, 23 Apr 1816, Amherst, MA, Mary Elizabeth Parker. She was born 20 May 1797, and died 13 May 1879.
He was a carriage trimmer and harnessmaker by trade. He resided Amherst, MA.
He was apparently the "Richard Whitney of Watertown" who, by Betsey Sparrow, had the following child:
