Luther8 Whitney (Joseph7, Palmer6, Joseph5, Timothy4, John3, John2, John1), son of Joseph7 and Sophronia (Taylor) Whitney, was born near Campton (now Wasco), Kane County, Illinois, 7 Dec 1841[1] and died at Hopkins, Nodaway Co., Missouri, on 4 Dec 1914.[2] He married at Thomson, Carroll Co., Illinois, 18 Nov 1865, Ellen Augusta Willey,[3] dau. of Alonzo and Tryphena (Barber) Willey. She was born near Java Village, Wyoming Co., New York, 15 Mar 1843[4] and died at Hopkins, Nodaway Co., Missouri on 3 Sep 1926.[5]
