Nathan5 Whitney (Benjamin4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Benjamin4 and Mercy (Hinckley) Whitney, was born circa 1768, and died Sep 1849.[1]

Marriage intentions were published 25 Dec 1793, Lisbon, ME, or Topsham, ME, for him and his first wife Sarah Godfrey[2], both "of Little River". She was born say 1773 at probably Lisbon Falls, ME, and died 21 Mar 1827, Lisbon, ME, or 22 Mar 1827, Augusta, ME.

He married secondly, 14 Jun 1828, Augusta, ME,[3] or 29 Jun 1828, Hallowell, ME, Fannie D. Shephard.[4] She was born circa 1800, probably Hallowell, ME.

Pierce says the following:[5]

He was a farmer.

iii. John Godfrey Whitney, b. 3 Mar 1798, Lisbon, ME; m. Mary Allen.
iv. Bathsheba Whitney, b. 30 Jan 1800, Lisbon, Maine; d. 15 Mar 1885, or 15 Mar 1895; m. 23 Jun 1842, Augusta or Gardiner, ME, David Hamlin.
v Rebecca S. Whitney, b. 1801, Lisbon, Maine; m. 9 Sep 1820, Gardiner, ME, Robert Gould.
vi. Otis Whitney, b. 26 Mar 1802; d. 9 Mar 1872, Augusta, ME, aged 69 years; m.(1) ----- -----; "widr. of Augusta, Maine, son of Nathan and Susan, a. 40 y." m.(2) 27 Sep 1846, Augusta, ME, or 13 Oct 1846, Wrentham, MA, Sarah C. x. Celinda Whitney, b. 28 Jul 1818, Litchfield, ME; m. 27 Feb 1838, ME, Seth P. Bragdon.
