Family:Whitney, John Rodman (1786-1857)
John Rodman7 Whitney (William6, Thomas5, William4, William3, Joshua2, John1), son of [Family:Whitney, William (1755-1810)|William6 and Ruth (Rodman) Whitney]], was born 1786, Hillsdale, NY, and died 10 Nov 1857, Camden, OH, aged 71 years. He was buried in the Camden Cemetery, Camden, OH.
He married firstly, Catherine Schoonover.
He married secondly, Sallie Spencer.
He was a soldier in the War of 1812. John R. WHITNEY moved to Camden township, Lorain county, OH, in 1836, but must have lived in Rochester, same county, in 1842. In 1850 he received a deed of twenty five acres of land in the east part of Camden, and which he deeded to his son Elisha in 1854.
