Charles H.12 Whitney (Ernest11 H., Charles10 H., Ernest H.9, Charles H.8, Orange7 Whitney, Jazaniah6 Whitney, James5, (prob.) James4, Eleazer3, Thomas2, John1), son of Ernest H.9 and Evi (Jeffers) Whitney, was born 3 April 1928, Fitchburg, MA, and died 4 July 1993, Bedford, MA.
He married, 16 June 1956, Fitchburg, MA, Marline C. Hawkins, daughter of Leroy S. and Clara O. (Roy) Hawkins. She was born 18 February 1933, Fitchburg, MA.
He was born to a farming family and lived in the same house that his father had grown up in. He entered the Air Force and as a crew chief he participated in the Berlin Air lift to give needed supplies and relief to the German people. After his early release due to a knee injury while servicing his plane, he turned home to the farm and went to work for the Boston and Maine Railroad and eventually became an engineer from which he eventually retired from. Some of his hobbies included firearms, hunting, and amateur radio. Along with his wife Marline they purchased a home still in Fitchburg and not very far from the Whitney homestead on Scott Rd.
