He married, 5 Jan 1865, Penacook, NH, Laura Pearson, of Wilmont. She was born 16 Sep 1841.
He is a farmer, was elected to the office of selectman for two consecutive terms, and represented his town in the legislature in 1887; resided New London, NH; P.O. Scytheville.

i. Carrie E.8 Whitney, b. 6 Jan 1866; m. 6 Jul 1889, Frank Reed; resided Unity, NH. ii. George W. Whitney, b. 25 May 1878; resided New London, NH.
