He married, 14 Oct 1872, KY, Elizabeth Bowl. She was born 3 Aug 1852, Hull, England.
He was a soldier in the late war; resided Louisville, KY, and Antrim, NH.

i. Emma M.9 Whitney, b. 30 Mar 1874, noted singer, leading soprano M.E. church, Louisville, KY. ii. Granville G. Whitney, b. 18 Jan 1880.
