John Guyan Whitney (John Seth), son of John Seth and Mary Elizabeth (Anderson) Whitney, born Oct 1830, Massisska County, Quebec, died 16 Sep 1891, Mornington Township, Perth County, Ontario. Another source lists his birth as 27 Aug 1835. He was buried in St. Paul's Methodist Cemetery.

He married, first, Janet Hunter. She was born 1836, and died 1862.

He married, second, 31 Oct 1866, Mornington Township, Perth County, Ontario, Canada, Rebecca Jane Coulter, daughter of John Coulter. She was born May 1848, Ontario, Canada, and died 9 Dec 1874, Mornington Township, Perth County, Ontario, Canada.

There were no known children of John Guyan and Janet (Hunter) Whitney.
