Stephen J.⁸ Whitney (Stephen Page⁷, Stephen⁶, Alexander⁵, Eleazer⁴, Eleazer³, Thomas², John¹), son of Stephen Page⁷ and Mary Jane (Pollard) Whitney, was born 14 Jul 1863, Newport, NH, and died 5 Dec 1943, Goffstown, NH.

He married, 14 Jul 1883, Antrim, NH, Emma E. Holt, daughter of Samuel and Mary M.⁸ (Whitney) Holt. She was born about 1862, Antrim, NH, and died after 1886.

He resided Newport, NH.

i.	Gertrude M.9 Whitney, b. 1 Aug 1886.

There may have been a divorce, because there is recorded the marriage, 18 Nov 1896, Antrim, NH, of Emma E. Holt and Morris H. Wood. She was daughter of Samuel A. and Mary M. (Whitney) Holt, he son of George O. and Ella S. (Weston) Wood.
