Newell Whitney (Job [prob.] Benjamin6 Solomon5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of Job and Nancy J. (Brown) Whitney, was born 28 Mar 1821, Conneaut, OH, and died 25 Dec 1901, Mitchell Co., IA. He was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mitchell, IA.[1]

He married, 10 Aug 1845, Ashtabula Co., OH, Eliza Ann Fenton, daughter of John and Catherine Elza (Vosburg) Fenton. She was born 21 Oct 1823, Conneaut, OH, and died 6 Nov 1900, Michtell Co., IA. She was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mitchell, IA.[2]

On 1 Jul 1863, Newell Whitney registered for the draft in Lowville, WI, aged 44 years, white, farmer, born in New York.[3]
