Zebulon5 Whitney (Abel4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Abel4 and Mary (Cane) Whitney, was born 27 Nov 1747, York, ME,[1] and died 11 Sep 1833, Gorham, ME.[2]

Marriage intentions were published 14 May 1774, Gorham, ME, for him and Joanna Stone "of Cape Elizabeth". He married, 10 Nov 1774, Gorham, ME, Joanna Stone. She was born circa 1755, and died 10 Dec 1824, probably Gorham, ME. She was also known as Hannah Stone.

Pierce says the following:[3]

He served in the Revolutionary war in the Massachusetts state troops, and Apr. 4, 1835, was granted a pension while living in Cumberland Co., Me.

ii. Happy Whitney, b. 11 Aug 1778; m. 6 Jun 1802, Gorham, ME, Enoch Hamblen.
iii. Matte Whitney, b. 14 Feb 1781; d. 14 Apr 1865, Gorham, ME. She was also known as Mattie Whitney.
iv. Rufus Whitney, b. 5 Apr 1784; d. 24 Feb 1817, Gorham, ME.
v. Eli Whitney, b. 16 Aug 1786; d. 1865, Gorham, ME; m. 19 Apr 1811, Gorham, ME, Damaris Stone.
vi. Eunice Whitney, b. 30 Aug 1789; d. 25 Dec 1869, prob. Gorham, ME; m. 13 Jun 1816, Gorham, ME, Peter Whitney, son of Daniel and Abigail (Stone) Whitney.
vii. Hannah Whitney, b. 21 Apr 1792; d. 28 Aug 1833, Gorham, ME.
viii. Tabitha Whitney, b. 30 Aug 1795; d. 15 Aug 1860, Gorham, ME.
ix. Elmira Whitney, b. 14 Jul 1798; m. George Whitmore. She was also known as Almira Whitney.
