Thomas Whitney, yeoman, parentage unknown, born say 1610, died after he wrote his will 28 Jul 1643 and before it was probated 18 Jun 1646.

He married Ann -----.

He resided Castle Camps, Cambridgeshire, England.

On 28 Jul 1643 he wrote his will, which was probated 18 Jun 1646. In it, he stated:

  • described himself as Thomas Whitney of Castle Camps, Cambridge, yeoman
  • to Ann my nowe wife the use of the lease where I now dwell for her life providing the house and fences be kept in repair
  • to son John when he is 18 50s every half year until he is 24, then L5 every half year while his mother lives
  • his wife shall renew the lease of the farm 5 years before it expires in his son John's name with her for life
  • if son John dies before having children, his wife is to divide the farm between his daughters
  • to daughters Ann, Mary, Barbery, Elizabeth, and Ellen L20 each to be paid when they reach 21 years
  • to son Thomas a cottage which he (Thomas Sr) and his mother hold in Ashdon, Essex after his mother dies
  • to son Thomas L3 when he reaches 21 years
  • if son Thomas or his daughters die unmarried, their portion be divided among the rest
  • all the rest to wife Ann, requests she be careful to bring up his children and get them their legacies
  • wife Ann named executrix

Notes

Since Ashdon, Essex is very near Saffron Walden, he may have been related to that branch.
