Family:Whitney, Levi (1784-1849)
Levi Whitney, parentage unknown, but perhaps the Levi Whitney, b. 28 Sep 1784, son of Levi6 and Hepsibeth (Fay) Whitney who, according to Pierce "m. and resided Plymouth, VT". According to census records, this Levi was born between 1784-1794, and died 20 Dec 1849.
The name of his first wife has not yet been ascertained.
He married, second, Betsey Gould. She had previously been married to Aaron Spencer by whom she had three children: William (b. ca. 1824); Nathan Gould (b. 8 Jan 1830); and Harriet E. (b. ca. 1832).
The estate file for Levi Whitney lists the following heirs: "Hepsibah Whitney of Hartland; Pluma Curtis, wife of Joel Curtis of Woodstock; Amos Whitney of Woodstock; Mary Caswell, wife of Ralph Caswell, of Springfield, Massachusetts; Edwin Whitney and Frances Whitney, both of Woodstock; and Adelaide Whitney of Bridgewater (daughter of his deceased son, Nathan Whitney)."
