He married, 24 Jan 1844, Perinton, NY, Jane Nichols, daughter of Elijah and Mary (Filkins) Nichols. She was born 6 Oct 1822, Nassau, NY, and died after Jan 1875.
Phoenix says the following:
- ". . . a farmer . . . . They settled at Perinton, 3 Ap. 1844; moved, 5 Ap. 1869, to Arcadia, N.Y., about three and a half miles south from the railway-station at Newark; and were living there in Jan. 1875."

They were living with her parents, at Arcadia, in Jan 1875, without children. ii. Estelle Maria Whitney, b. 12 Ju 1862, Perinton, NY; and was living with her parents, at Arcadia, NY, in Jan 1875.
