Great-great grandfather:

Carlos Whitney (b. 1848). Married Eliza Marsh of Crown Point, NY. He was an Adirondack guide for many years, in lower Saranac, but farmed with Eliza in Crown Point NY, Moriah NY and Vermont.

Later in life (early 1900's) he and Eliza and younger children Robert and Frances moved to Earlville/Sherburne/Norwich NY area. He died there (1917) but was brought back to Crown Point to be buried.

His daughter Harriet DuShan Thurston Whitney (married Charles W. Bigalow) lived in Moriah and Crown Point, NY. The "Thurston" was from one of the families that Carlos was a guide for (I don't know where the "DuShan" came from).

Questions:

Conflicting info. on Carlos birth location-- Census's say VT. Family notes say Conn. then moved to Canada for work then down to Crown Point. WRG has a Carlos born 1850, but some siblings names do match up from family notes. I can't find any birth records anywhere, or any documents before his time in Crown Point (or parent info.).
