Joseph⁸ Whitney (Jeremiah Fowler⁷, Joseph⁶, Joseph⁵, Abel⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Jeremiah Fowler⁷ and Charity Rogers (Hunter) Whitney, was born 18 Oct 1850, Topsham, ME, and died 24 May 1916, Topsham, ME.

He married 21 Nov 1876, Topsham, ME, Emily A. Thompson, daughter of David and Abigail (Dill) Thompson. She was born 24 Nov 1850, Topsham, ME, and died 20 Jul 1944, Topsham, ME.

Joseph and Emily are both buried in the Rogers Cemetery in Topsham, ME.

i.	Ella Charity9 Whitney, b. 21 Nov 1877, Topsham, ME.
ii.	Horace Jere Whitney, b. 31 Jul 1879, Topsham, ME, d. 30 Jul 1939, Topsham, ME. He married Elizabeth M. Waltman, b. 24 Apr 1888, d. 18 Dec 1953. Both are buried in the Rogers Cemetery in Topsham, ME.
iii.	George David Whitney, b. 15 Nov 1881, Topsham, ME, d. 14 Jun 1899, Topsham, ME.
iv.	Mary Abbie Whitney, b. 23 Sep 1887.
