William Greenlaw7 Whitney (Enoch6, Moses5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Enoch6 and Hannah (Newcomb) Whitney, was born 4 Aug 1812, Gorham, ME or Harrison, ME, and died 9 Mar 1875, Lee, ME.

He "of Lee" married, 28 Dec 1834, Dresden, ME, Agnes Smith. Intentions of m. we published in Lee and in Springfield, ME on 8 September 1834. She was born 13 Apr 1811, Dresden, ME, or in Lee, Maine, the dau. of Joseph and Martha (Robinson) Smith. She d. 19 April 1893 in Lee, ME.

He resided Lee, ME in the censuses of 1850, 1860 and 1870, where he was a farmer.

Children of William Greenlaw7 and Agnes (Smith) Whitney, all b. in Lee, Penobscot Co., ME:

i. William Alonzo8 Whitney, b. 29 Oct 1835; m. 4 Jul 1858, Emma Toombly; resided Winn, ME.
ii. Martha A. Whitney, b. 23 Nov 1837; m. 3 Oct 1860, Thomas Roberts; d. 2 May 1865, Lee, ME.
iii. Joseph Franklin Whitney, b. 3 Dec 1841; m. Delanah H. Spencer.
iv. Braddock S. Whitney, b. 17 Sep 1847; m. 20 Jun 1871, Almatia Lane, dau. of Lewis and Clara Lane of Lincoln, ME. Children: Charles Whitney, b. 25 June 1872, and William Whitney, b. 23 September 1875.

1880 Census of Lincoln, Penobscot Co., Maine Almasha and sons Charles and William are living with her parents, Lewis and Clara Lane.

Penobscot Co. Probate record: Braddock S. & Almatia Whitney parents of Lee, ME relinguishing son Charles Whitney age 4 ( on 25 of June) to Lewis and Clara Lane of Lincoln. Child does not lose inheritance rights from biological parents. Dated Nov 1876
