Phineas Whitney (Reuben, Phinehas, Isaac, Nathaniel, Benjamin, John), was born 09 08 1822, Norridgewok, ME.

He married Melvina Amanda Bean. She was born 1824, Jay, ME.

Census, 1850: New Vinyard, ME; farmer

Amanda m. secondly Jefferson J. Adams on 14 December 1861 in Jay, ME. He d. 8 January 1864 at Barracks General Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Amanda then cohabited with Benjamin Hatch.
