Family:Whitney, Hachaliah (1762-1848)

Major Hachaliah⁶ Whitney (Jesse⁵, Jonathan⁴, Jonathan³, Benjamin², John¹), born 5 Apr 1762; married 29 Jun 1786, Abigail Nelson; born 30 Jul 1765; married 2d, 9 Oct 1842, Mrs. Olive (Madden) Cobb; born 1 Jun 1777; died 1849.

He was in the Revolutionary war in the Mendon and Milford companies, and later was captain, and in 1809 major, of the local military regiment. He inherited part of the old homestead on which he always resided. He died 14 Nov 1848; resided Milford, Massachusetts.

i.	Ethan7 Whitney, born 22 Apr 1878; married Betsey Miller Green.
ii.	Jesse Whitney, born 12 Oct 1790; married Rebecca Fisk.
iii.	Nelson Whitney, born 24 Mar 1790; died 19 Jul 1790.
iv.	Abigail Whitney, born Jan. 6, 1803; resided Milford.
