Hon. Bartholomew9 Whitney (Bartholomew8, Oliver7, Silas6, David5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), born Franklin, Vermont, 8 Mar 1826; married there 3 Nov 1847 Sarah Towle Pearson, born 10 Nov 1826.

He was born in Franklin, Vermont, where he always resided. Having obtained a common school education he entered Bakersfield academy where he was graduated. He early joined the M. E. church in which he was a steward for over thirty years. He was entrusted with all the town offices and in 1880 was unanimously elected a member of the Vermont legislature at Montpelier. He died 16 Oct 1893; resided W. Berkshire, Vermont.
