Artemas Chushen8 Whitney (Newhall7, Benjamin6, Solomon5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), born Durham, C. E., 2 Dec 1838; married at Wheelock, Vermont, Mar. 13, 1866, Sarah E. Stark, born 5 Jul 1839.

He was born on a farm in Canada, but early moved to the states, locating at Wheelock, Vermont, where he was married. Later he moved to St. Johnsbury Center, where he has since resided on his farm. During the war, from 1861 to 1865 he was one of the selectmen; resided St. Johnsbury Center, Vermont.

i. Inda M.9 Whitney, born 19 Jan 1867; married 1 Jan 1890, B. A. Farnham; resided St. J.
ii. Charles Newhall Whitney, born 6 Sep 1868; married 24 Mar 1892; resided St. J. Center.
iii. Jennie Elizabeth Whitney, born 16 Dec 1874; resided St. J.
