Charles⁷ Whitney (Jonas⁶, Jonas⁵, David⁴, Benjamin³, John², John¹), born in Westminster, Massachusetts, 21 Mar 1797; married 8 May 1823, Sarah Howard, born 21 Aug 1798; died 29 Feb 1888.

Charles Whitney, married Sally, dau. of Joseph and Hannah (Pollard) Howard, and lived on the ancestral farm in Westminster, til after the decease of his f., when he disposed of the property and spent a few years elsewhere in town. He finally rem. to Monticello, Minnesota, where himself and w. died He was a cooper by trade. He died 12 Mar 1879; resided Westminster, Massachusetts and Monticello, Minnesota.

i.	Charles O.8 Whitney, born 4 Feb 1830; married Mary C. Gordon.
ii.	Merrill Whitney, born 24 Dec 1831; died 20 Jan 1863.
iii.	Henry J. Whitney, born 4 Mar 1834; resided Silver Creek, Minnesota.
iv.	Sarah Howard Whitney, born 23 Jun 1836; died 18 Mar 1858.
v.	William H. Whitney, born 16 Jan 1840; married Mary J. Mccurday.
