"...Previously these shares had gone to the two sisters of Thomas Whitney, son of Sir Robert Whitney (d.1653), following his death without issue. They were, Lucy, wife of Robert Price of Bwlch y beudy, co. Denbigh; Susannah, widow of Henry Williams of Cabalva; Ann, widow of Thomas Rodd of Foxley; and Eleanor, widow of Dr Nathaniel Wright ..."
This doesn't quite sound right ...
Thomas RODD married Anne WHITNEY, and received from his wife her share of the Whitney estate of which she and her sister were co-heiresses. Thomas RODD bought out her sister's share, and then possessed the whole estate. He left the Whitney estate to his granddaughter Anna Sophia RODD. Anna Sophia married William WARDOUR a Barrister-at-Law, and Clerk of the Pells. Thomas RODD was left a widower in 1657, survived by one son Robert RODD, and four daughters: Anne (CARPENTER), Margaret (GWILLYM), Eleanor (WITHERSTONE), and Elizabeth (GREGORY). Robert RODD took over Foxley from his father, and his three daughters became his co-heiresses: Lucy (PRICE), Anna Sophia (WARDOUR), and Frances (HOW). Lucy RODD, the eldest child of Robert RODD and Anna Sophia NEALE, married Robert PRICE a Judge and Politician, who bought out both her sister's shares and established himself at Foxley.

but...
"... The estate thus sold consisted of Whitney Manor and the properties above named. The four sisters in whom the estates were invested were Lucy, late wife of John Booth, of Le Hom; Susannah, widow of Henry Williams, of Cabalva; Ann, widow of Thomas Rodd; and Eleanor, widow of Dr. Thomas Wright. These in due course of law conveyed their respective shares to Mr. W. Wardour, who married in 1685 the second daughter of Robert Rodd, of Foxley .."

... suggests a typo - Lucy PRICE should be Lucy BOOTH, but having thought this was straight froward, now I'm confused!
Anyway, bit of related trivia, Lucy (PRICE) took Frances (HOW) to court, and I've obtained a copy of the item from the National Archives!
Best Wishes Suzanne
