William⁷ Whitney (John⁶, John⁵, Samuel⁴, Joshua³, David², Samuel¹), son of John⁶ and Martha (Fenny) Whitney, was born 1819, KY, and died 25 Sep 1879.

He married, 26 Jan 1843, Allen Co., KY, Dolly J. C. Lyon, daughter of Gutridge T. and Polly (Melton) Lyon. She was born 1829, VA, and died after 1860.
