Ephraim6 Whitney (Nathaniel5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), born 2 Jul 1722, Westborough, Massachusetts;[1]; married 6 Dec 1749, Thankful Harrington, born in 1729; died July 16, 1795.
He was born in Groton, moved with his parents to Weston, and later to Westboro. After his marriage he purchased a large farm in Upton on which he always resided and followed agricultural pursuits. At his decease the farm was equally divided between his two sons. He died 21 Jul 1797; resided Upton, Massachusetts.

i. Thankful7 Whitney, born 11 Nov 1750; married Jonathan Batchelor. They resided in Upton; farmer. - Ch.: Thankful, m Josiah Rockwood, resided Upton; ch., Lewis, Adams and Emily; Margery, m Amos Bradish, resided Upton; ch., Harvey, James Jonathan, Melinda, Emmons, and Metilda; Jonathan, died young, unmarried; Otis, ml Susannah Buck, resided Upton; ch., Lucy, Chloe, Serena, Direxza, Hannah, and one other; Hannah, married David Hawes; ch., Calista and Darias.
ii. Beulah Whitney, born 23 Jan 1753; married 7 May 1772, Samuel Forbush. He was son of Lieut. Samuel Forbush, of Westboro, and great-greatgrand-son of Daniel Forbes (Forbush Ffarabas), who came from Scotland in 1655 (See Forbes-Forbush Genealogy by Fred C. Pierce, p. 61). He was born 29 Jan 1750; died in Upton, Massachusetts, Oct 31, 1829. She died 11 May 1848; ae. 95 years. - Ch.: Dea. Samuel, born 30 Mar 1773; married Lydia Gibson; resided Upton; ch., Eliza, John, Mary, Joseph, Persis G., Julia and Thomas Spencer; Beulah, b 3 Jul 1774; died unmarried 1 Apr 1833; Ephraim, born Dec. 15, 1775; married Rebecca Sadler and Polly Stowe, resided Upton, 9 ch.: Levi, born 11 Nov 1777; married Mary Warren; resided Upton, Massachusetts, 3 ch.; Abijah, born 11 May 1779; married Sarah Fiske. He was a great singing master; resided Shelburne, Massachusetts, 6 ch.; Abner, born 14 Nov 1782; married Polly Batchelor; resided Upton, 3 ch.; Lucy, born 3 Sep 1791; died Jan 20, 1819 unmarried
iii. Ephraim Whitney, born 13 May 1756; married Jemima Whipple and Joanna Sadler. iv. Amos Whitney, born 29 Jun 1759; married Eunice Taft.
