He married Susannah Hill, daughter of Isaac and Lydia4 (Whitney) Hill, born -- Jul 1751; died 25 Sep 1841.
He was in Capt. Brooks' company from Sherborn, in the Revolutionary war. He resided Sherborn and Dover, Massachusetts.
Children of James6 and Susannah (Hill) Whitney:
i. Isaac7 Whitney, born in 1782; married Mary Moore and Sarah Thayer. ii. Benjamin Whitney, born in T., 1785; married Hepsibeth Moore. iii. Martin Whitney, born 17 Jun 1787; married Nancy Orne, Moriah, New York. iv. Sylvia Whitney, born 2 Dec 1795; died young; resided Attleboro. v. Patty Whitney, born 5 Mar 1792; died young. vi. Susan Whitney, born in 1790; died young.
