Family:Whitney, Josiah (1765-1842)

Josiah⁶ Whitney (Josiah⁵, David⁴, Benjamin³, John², John¹), son of Josiah⁵ and Sarah (Lawrence) Whitney; born Waltham, Massachusetts, June 23, 1765; married (pub.) 10 Jan 1790, Mary Barrett, born 1768, died 23 Aug 1841. He was born in Waltham and married in Ashby, Massachusetts. After the births of four of their children they were dismissed to the church in Ashby, 24 Nov 1799. There they ever afterward resided, honored and respected. He died 24 Dec 1842; resided Watertown and Ashby, Massachusetts.

ii.	Sally Whitney, born 19 Mar 1792; married 16 Dec 1814. Oliver Kendall, resided Ashby. She died 23 Nov 1889. He was born June, 1792; died Apr. 15, 1857. Ch.: Sarah, born 22 Mar 1818, died 16 Aug 1822; Josiah Quincy, born 21 Apr 1825, married Amanda H. Adams 13 Sep 1853; died 15 Jun 1883; Clarissa; John Miron, born 4 Oct 1829, died Nov. 9, 1846.
iii.	Jonas Prescott Whitney, born 22 Sep 1793; married Rebecca Piper and Louisa Wheeler.
iv.	Mary Whitney, born 14 Sep 1796; married 17 Jul 1817, Oliver L. Wheeler; resided Ashby, Massachusetts. She died 5 Jul 1888. He was born 6 Aug 1795; died 13 May 1891.
