Richard6 Whitney (Simon5, Daniel4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Simon5 and Sarah (Seaver) Whitney,[1] was born 2 Jan 1782, Watertown, MA,[2] was baptized 6 Jan 1782, Watertown, MA,[3] and died 25 Nov 1863, Amherst, MA, aged 80 years 10 months 23 days, of pneumonia.
He married, 23 Apr 1816, Amherst, MA, Mary Elizabeth Parker, daughter of Justin and Mary (-----) Parker. She was born 20 May 1797, Brookfield, MA, and died 13 May 1879, aged 81 years 11 months 27 days, of apoplexy.
He was a carriage trimmer and harnessmaker by trade. He resided Amherst, MA.
He was apparently the "Richard Whitney of Watertown" who, by Betsey Sparrow, had the following child:
