George Hilliard9 Whitney (George Reddington8, Simon7, Simon6, Timothy5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of George Reddington8 and Pauline Brown (Hilliard) Whitney, was born 4 Jul 1853, Haverhill or Provincetown, MA, and died 24 Feb 1939, Downers Grove, IL, aged 86 years.[1] He was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Downers Grove, IL.

He married firstly, 24 Jun 1873, North Bridgewater, MA, Winifred W. Dunbar, daughter of Eliphalet Thayer and Lucinda Cobb (Snow) Dunbar.[2] She was born 27 Jul 1854, Easton, MA. Apparently they were divorced, because she married secondly, 28 Jan 1883, Brockton, MA, Charles W. Fuller, b. ca. 1855, Braintree, MA, son of Waldo A. and Sarah A. (-----) Fuller.[3]

He married secondly, Mary J. Gilman, daughter of Daniel and Mary (Southworth) Gilman. She was born 8 Nov 1824, MA, and died 4 Dec 1912, Brockton, MA. Apparently they, too, were divorced.

He married thirdly, Sep 1889, Adeline May Ellis. She was born Aug 1871, and died after 1939. He resided Chicago, IL, and, at death, 4811 Highland Ave., Downers Grove, IL.

i. Ernest Eliphalet10 Whitney, b. ca. 1875, MA; m.(1) 14 Feb 1893, North Easton (recorded in Brockton), MA, Sina/Lina Loretta Holmes, b. ca. 1877, Mansfield, MA, dau. of John B. and Florence N. (George) Holmes;[4] divorced; m.(2) Antoinette V. Heller, b. Freeport, IL. In 1909 he was a salesman living at 72 Hamilton St., Boston, MA. Sina m.(2) 5 Nov 1904, Easton, MA, Edward Earl Staples, b. ca. 1882, Brockton, MA, son of George E. and Sarah E. (Rounds) Staples.[5]

Children by Sina:

a. Irvena May11 Whitney, b. 9 May 1893, Brockton, MA (and Ervina May, b. 8 May, Easton, MA).[6]

Children by Antoinette:

a. Waldo Dunbar11 Whitney, b. 8 Feb 1898, Brockton, MA,[7] or Riverside, CA; d. 23 Aug 1906, Falmouth, MA (recorded at Brockton, MA), aged 8 years 6 months 15 days, of progressive anaemia.[8]
b. Lucille Whitney, b. 22 Oct 1899, Brockton, MA.[9]
c. Marion Whitney, b. 19 Nov 1902, Brockton, MA;[10] d. 3 Dec 1902, Brockton, MA, aged 14 days, of convulsions.[11]
d. Eleanor Whitney, b. 9 Jun 1904, Brockton, MA.[12]
e. Geralding May Whitney, b. 21 Apr 1909, Boston, MA.[13]
