He married firstly, 15 Jan 1860, Mount Pleasant, IA, Ann Deline Miller, daughter of Rev. Arthur and Rebecca (Wherret) Miller. She was born 13 Dec 1837, Columbia, IN, and died 28 Jun 1864, Mount Pleasant, IA.
He married secondly, 6 Dec 1867, Mount Pleasant, IA, Nancy Ann Lambert, daughter of Jacob and Sydney (Feral) Lambert. She was born 3 Mar 1848, Fairview, IL, and died after 1925.
He was a carpenter and builder. They dwelt in Mount Pleasant till 4 Mar 1862; in Canaan, IA, till 10 Aug 1862; in Winfield, IA, till 1 Apr 1863; and then returned to Mount Pleasant. They were living in South Jefferson Street, Mount Pleasant, IA, in Aug 1874.
