Eli9 Whitney, Jr. (Eli8, Eli7, Eli6, Nathaniel5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Eli8 and Sarah Perkins (Dallibar) Whitney, was born 22 Jan 1847, New Haven, CT, was baptized 13 Jun 1847, New Haven, CT,[1] and died 23 Jun 1924, New Haven, CT.
He married, 22 Oct 1873, New Haven, CT, Sarah Sheffield Farnum, daughter of Henry and Ann Ann Sophia (Whitman) Farnham. She was born 27 Sep 1850, Scipio, NY.
He was born in New Haven, CT, where he has always resided; was educated at the public schools there and later was graduated in the class of 1869 at Yale College. He has held various local offices and at present (1894), is a member of the Board of Education. Is also president of the New Haven Water Company; resided New Haven, CT.
He was admitted to the church, 25 Apr 1858, on profession.[2]
