Charles L.8 Whitney (Alanson7, Samuel6, David5, Matthias4, Cornelius3, Joshua2, John1), son of Alanson7 Delaney (Young) Whitney, was born 11 Sep 1876, IA, and died 19 Dec 1956, Mason City, IA.

He married firstly, 25 Dec 1900, Bremer Co., IA, Etta May Jordan. She was born 1879, and died 1923.

He married secondly, 12 Nov 1925, Cerro Gordo Co., IA, Mabel A. (Gage) Bartholomew, daughter of Warren F. and Belle (Woodhouse) Gage. She was born 2 Jan 1882, and died 2 Sep 1954. She had married firstly, 10 Jun 1903, Mason City, IA, Dexter S. C. Bartholomew.

All the children say their mother's name was May Jordan.
