Peter⁶ Whitney (Timothy⁵, Jonas⁴, Moses³, Richard², John¹), son of Timothy⁵ and Alice (Whitney) Whitney, was born 20 Apr 1760 [Pierce], or 20 Apr 1762, Petersham, MA,^[1] and died 6 Mar 1826, Chester, MA, aged 66 years, of influenza.^[2]

He married Mary Blair, parentage unknown. She was born about 1765, and died 11 Mar 1826, Chester, MA, aged 60 years, of influenza.^[3] She might be the Mary Blair, daughter of Robert and Sarah (Frost) Blair, born 1 Apr 1767, Williamstown, MA.

He was a tailor and resided at Chester, where he conducted his business. Was buried in Huntington.

viii.	Eliza Whitney, b. 20 Sep 1804; d. 22 Mar 1871, Suffield, CT; m. (int. 3 Aug 1828, Chester, MA[7]), 19 Aug 1828, John Wells Loomis, b. 23 May 1805. He was a manufacturer of tobacco and cigars; resided Suffield, CT.
