Josiah Davis8 Whitney (Jonas Prescott7, Josiah6, Josiah5, David4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), born in Ashby, Massachusetts, 7 Nov 1818; married 5 Dec 1842, Lucy D. Chapin, born Dec. 21, 1818. He is a manufacturer of organ reeds; resided Brattleboro, Vermont.

i. Jennie Lucy9 Whitney, born 13 Jun 1844.
ii. Edwin Davis Whitney, born 4 Apr 1856; married 27 Apr 1881, Julia Spring Brooks; resided Brattleboro, Vermont. She was born 22 Mar 1857;
Ch.: Harold Edward, born 29 Feb 1884; Edwina Augusta, born Aug. 18, 1885; Alice Lucy, born 5 Apr 1887; Merrill Brooks, born May 26, 1891.
