Family:Whitney, Thomas (1736-a1790)

Thomas⁴ Whitney (Mark³, Benjamin², John¹), son of (Mark³ and Tabitha (Mellen) Whitney, was born 24 Jan or 24 Feb 1736, Hopkinton, MA.^[1]

Marriage intentions for him "of Natick" and Mehetable Bacon "of Stoughton" were published 17 Sep 1761, Canton, MA. Marriage intentions for him and Mehetable Bacon "of Stoughton" were published 19 Oct 1761, Natick, MA. He "of Natick" married, 12 Nov 1761 at Canton, MA Mehetable Bacon "of Stoughton". She was born circa 1740, possibly Stoughton, MA.

He appeared on the census of 1790 at Partridgefield, MA; 11-3-00, that is, one male 16+, one male 15-, and three females.

Pierce says the following:^[2]

Thomas Whitney was born in Natick prior to 1769. He sold his rights in that town and emigrated to Westminaster. His farm he disposed of to David HANN, of Hopkinton. He served in the Revolutionary army and was in the company from Partridgefield.

Children of Thomas⁴ and Mehetable (Bacon) Whitney all b. at Natick, MA:

i.	Mehetable5 Whitney, b. 8 Aug 1762; m. Samuel Lawton.
ii.	Huldah Whitney, b. 20 Aug 1764.
iii.	Mark Whitney, b. 18 May 1766. He appeared on the census of 1790 at Pittsfield, MA; 10-1-00, that is, one male 16+ and two females.
iv.	Esther Whitney, baptized 29 Nov 1767.
