Ethan⁷ Whitney (Hachaliah⁶, Jesse⁵, Jonathan⁴, Jonathan³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Hachaliah⁶ and Abigail (Nelson) Whitney, was born 22 Apr 1788, Milford, MA, and died Jul 1823, Boston, MA.

He married, 7 Jan 1810, Betsy Mellen Green. She was born in Mendon, 22 Nov 1792, and died 22 Aug 1871, in Bellingham. She married secondly, 9 Sep 1825, Micah Bent.

He resided Milford, Massachusetts.

i.	Nelson8 Whitney, b. 5 May 1811; m. Ruth M. Guild.
ii.	Harriet Whitney, b. 9 Apr 1813; d. 15 Mar 1841, Bellingham, MA, aged 26 or 27 years;[1] unmarried.
iii.	Willis Whitney, b. 1815; d. 11 Sep 1817.
iv.	Dexter Whitney, b. 1817; m. Adeliza Cook.
v.	Ethan Whitney, b. 2 Dec 1823, Milford, MA; m. Julia Ann Louise Bosworth.
