Jump to navigationJump to searchThomas Whitney, was born before 1765, and died sometime after 1810 and probably before 1820.
Fayette County, Kentucky Thomas Whitney, early cabinet maker, native of Ireland, advertised a house for sale in 1795. He continued in the cabinet- making business through 1806, when his shop was on Main Street. Book 49, P 345.[1]
From the State Archives, Page 52, among expenditures 1792-1798, was one for Thomas Whitney, 1794, as one of the veneremen.[2]
The Mary Whitney enumerated in Lexington in 1820 was probably his widow.
Could one of his sons have been Family:Whitney, William (1790-1838) of Lexington, KY & Thibedeaux, LA?

- 1820, Lexington, Fayette Co., KY: Mary Whitney, 1 male 16-26, 1 male 16-18, 2 females over 45, 1 person engaged in commerce, 2 male slaves under 14, 1 female slave 14-26, 3 female slaves under 14.
