He married, 7 Nov 1793, Westminster, MA, Lucy Wheeler. She was born 6 Jun 1771, and died 2 Jan 1856, Sterling, MA.
He made his will Apr 13, 1835, and it was probated 1 may 1847. He resided Sterling, MA.

Princeton, MA; Betsey M., b. 26 Jan 1820; married May 1843, Lysander B. Barnes. She d. 31 Oct 1853; Joel W., b. 30 Oct 1821; m. 5 May 1847, Mary E. Thomas. He d. 5 Jul 1894. He was b. East Princeton. At his death he was senior member of the firm of J. W. Mason & Company, chair and furniture manufacturers in New York City and at Hunter. His character was firm and commanding, but with a keen sense of the humorous - at all times ready to see and appreciate a joke, and always ready with a pleasantry. He looked on the bright side of life, was never discouraged, but bravely met and overcame all obstacles. Meanness of any description excited his contempt, and honesty and integrity were his constant precept and practice. He was born to command, and was only satisfied when command was devolved upon him. It may be recollected by some that while Hon. Chester A. Arthur was President of the United States he visited Hunter as the guest of Colonel Mason.
