Demsey Whitney, parentage unknown but perhaps son of Ransom Whitney, was born ca. 1813, NC, and died after 1860.

He married Martha L. -----. She was born ca. 1804, TN, and died after 1860.

i.	Martha E. Whitney, b. ca. 1846, TN.
ii.	Lae? Whitney, b. ca. 1848, TN.
iii.	Mary Jane Whitney, b. ca. 1848, TN.

v.	Ransom L. Whitney, b. ca. 1853, MO.

Notes

Dempsey Whitney born about 1813 in North Carolina. Known marriage to a Martha L unknown. Dempsey and Martha are in Perry County, Missouri in 1860. They do have a son named Ransom. They would have come through Tennessee as three children born there and Martha was born there also. - GenForum post.
